Marlee Capetner
Hello! My name is Marlee Carpenter, a dedicated professional with a love and passion for all things good, community and service. With a career spanning nearly a decade, I've had the privilege of contributing significantly to the City of Oxford's community partners, initiatives and programs. My passion lies in providing opportunities for individuals to come together, contribute, and thrive. I firmly believe in the power of a community driven to bring positive change and create impact.
In 2014 I joined the City of Oxford as an Activity Center Assistant with the Oxford Park Commission. During that time, I honed my skills, graduated from the University of Mississippi and, in 2016, took on the role of Volunteer Coordinator for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). This experience allowed me to connect with the community on a deeper level and solidify my commitment to making a positive impact.
In 2021, a pivotal moment arrived when I spearheaded the rebranding of RSVP, transforming it into the dynamic community force it is today, Stronger Together Oxford-- Community Volunteer Hub. The project aimed to enhance community involvement and foster a sense of unity for everyone, and I am honored to have been at the forefront of this transformative endeavor.
Since then, I have served as the Director of Stronger Together Oxford, overseeing its growth and impact on the community. This role has allowed me to create a team of dedicated volunteers to building a stronger, more connected Oxford through volunteerism and community engagement.
In essence, my professional journey has been a tapestry woven with diverse experiences and a shared thread of community-driven passion. As I continue to lead Stronger Together Oxford, I am driven by the belief that, indeed, we are stronger when we come together. I am excited about the journey ahead and the countless opportunities to further enhance the fabric of our community.
If you share a similar passion for community engagement or have ideas to contribute, I welcome the opportunity to connect. Together, we can continue to build a stronger, more vibrant Oxford for all.
